Freeman McMurrick was formed in 1975 by Geoff Freeman and John McMurrick. Operations began in a single office, in the heart of the Melbourne Central Business District.
Freeman McMurrick's relationships with world-class insurance markets and insurers have grown from strength to strength. This has enabled delivery of international securities directly to the regional Australian market.

Prior to Aon's acquisition of Freeman McMurrick in 2006, the firm had grown to be recognised as one of Australia's largest privately owned insurance broking companies.

Today
Today, Freeman McMurrick operates solely as a wholesaler of insurance facilities, delivering only to the retail broking market. Freeman McMurrick service their entire portfolio of 450 nationwide insurance brokers and their clients from their head office locations in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
The decision to retain the Freeman McMurrick brand has assisted the company with maintaining its operational independence. Freeman McMurrick ensures that any business placed through them by their network of retail insurance brokers cannot, and will not, be pursued by Aon.
